We visted the Hoopeston Fire Department for Fire Prevention Week. The Firemen invited us to the station to hear
a talk about fire safety. We learned not to play with or touch things that are hot, that smoke is not safe to breath,
and how to get out of our house if there were a fire. Firefighter Brian also taught us how to check our smoke detectors
at home to see if they are working. No trip to the fire department would be complete without checking out the trucks.
We climbed into the back and even got to pretend we were driving. At the end of our visit the firemen gave us a bag
full of coloring books, pencils, and other fire safety goodies. We also got our own Jr. firefighter helmet. THANK
YOU HOOPESTON FD FOR TAKING THE TIME TO TEACH US FIRE SAFETY!
