Summer Programs
Listed below are the summer programs offered at Small Wonders in the summer of 2010. If you are
interested in registering your child for any of the sessions please contact Emily Brown at: 283-5475 or email me at: bobnemm@verizon.net. All prices include all materials that children will need for each session. These clubs usually
fill up fast and unless otherwise specified are limited to the first 10 children who sign up. $10 of the class fee will be
due when you sign your child up to guarantee your child’s placement in the class. The balance of
the class fee will be due the first day of the class.
Beginners Reading Club: The summer reading program is designed to give children a
jumpstart in their literacy skills. We use a variety of curricula programs, literacy centers, and activities to work on letter
sounds and reading. This program is for children entering kindergarten or kindergartners who are struggling with reading.
I will mold the program to meet individual student needs. This program requires a lot of work at home with mom and dad. Price
for the reading club is $95. Beginners
Reading Club will meet twelve times, from 9-10am on Mondays and Wednesdays starting June 7 and ending
July 14.
Challenge Reading
Club: This reading club is for children who have already started reading in grades K-2 who want to keep the challenges going
through summertime. We will do several book studies. This program is designed to strengthen comprehension
skills of at or above level readers. Price for this club is $95. Challenge Reading Club will meet twelve times,
from 10-11am on Mondays and Wednesdays starting June 7, and ending July 14.
ABC Club: The
alphabet club is for children entering the four-year-old classes at Small Wonders Preschool. This club focuses on alphabet
recognition as we move through 4 different stories together. We will have a variety of projects to go along with each story.
Price for Alphabet Club is $65 ABC Club will meet 4 times, from 10-11 on Tuesdays: June 8, 15,
22, 29.
Small Group Tutoring Classes: The tutoring classes will consist
of 6 weeks of tutoring in reading or math. These sessions are designed for K-3 students who are struggling
with their current grade level work. These small group sessions will be individually designed for each
students based on their specific needs. The small group tutoring will be limited to no more than six children
per session with a cost of $95. Tutoring Classes will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-10 starting
June 8 and ending July 15
Science Club grades K-2: Science club is designed for students to explore scientific
concepts through hands on activities and experiments. We will work in two hour sessions to explore and
test theories in biology, chemistry, physical science and even a little physics! All activities will be
age appropriate for children from kindergarten through second grade. Science club will for two hours once
a week for four weeks. All materials needed are included in the club fee of $100. Science Club
for grades K-2 will meet on Thursdays from 10-12 on June 10, 17, 24, and July 1.
Science Club grades 3-5: Science club is designed for students to explore scientific
concepts through hands on activities and experiments. We will work in two hour sessions to explore and
test theories in biology, chemistry, physical science and even a little physics! All activities will be
age appropriate for children from third grade through fifth grade. Science club will for two hours once
a week for four weeks. All materials needed are included in the club fee of $100. Science
Club for grades 3-5 will meet on Mondays from 11-1 on June 7, 14, 21, 28.
