2011 Summer Programs

Small Wonders Summer Programs

Listed below are the summer programs offered at Small Wonders in the summer of 2011. If you are interested in registering your child for any of the sessions please contact Emily Brown at: 217-772-1203 or email me at: brownej@hoopeston.k12.il.us. All prices include all materials that children will need for each session. These clubs usually fill up fast and unless otherwise specified are limited to the first 10 children who sign up. $10 of the class fee will be due when you sign your child up to guarantee your child’s placement in the class. The balance of the class fee will be due the first day of the class.

Beginners Reading Club: The summer reading program is designed to give preschool children a jumpstart in their literacy skills. We use a variety of activities, literacy centers, and activities to work on letter sounds and reading. This program is for children entering kindergarten or kindergartners who are struggling with reading. I will differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs. This program requires a lot of work at home with mom and dad. Price for the reading club is $115. Beginners Reading Club will meet Eight Times, from 9-10:30am on Tuesdays starting June 7 and ending July 26.

Challenge Reading Club: This reading club is for children who have already started reading in grades K-2 who want to keep the challenges going through summertime. We will do several book studies. This program is designed to strengthen comprehension skills of at or above level readers. Price for this club is $115. Challenge Reading Club will meet twelve times, from 10:30-12:00 on Tuesdays starting June 7, and ending July 26.
